Journalist Jonathan Bloom believes it can. Author of the book “American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food” (Da Capo Press), Bloom is on a mission to curb food waste, whatever it takes. Apparently as much as 25% of the food we bring into our home goes down the disposal or into the trash. So, what is causing Americans to toss out perfectly good food?
