That's right. Potatoes are a vegetable, albeit, starchy, caloric and containing sugar yet they're healthy too, just not the anti-oxidant-type of healthy --another kind of healthy. Mostly vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, manganese and dietary fiber.
BTW: Don't try this at home, but according to my husband, in Soviet times a large pan of fried potatoes was as good as any babysitter. It would last about half an hour.
