PEACHES
Level 1
Peach Waffle Topping
Serves 4
- a Marlene Samuels creation -
Love dessert in the morning? The combination of semi-solid chocolate chips and creamy peaches contrasts beautifully with the crisp crunch of toasted waffles.
For peach sauce:
1 Tbsp. butter, unsalted
2-3 overripe peaches, peeled and chopped
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Gently sauté peaches until soft and liquidy.
For waffle preparation:
(4) frozen waffles
4 Tbsp. butter, unsalted
1 scoop ice cream
½ cup peach sauce
½ cup chocolate chips, pre-melted in microwave
1. Thaw waffles in toaster oven or leave on counter, and allow to come to room temperature.
2. In a skillet large enough to accommodate two waffles, melt butter until just beginning to brown. Add waffles; cook until lightly browned and then flip to toast other side.
3. Remove waffles to individual plates. Cut in half leaving space in between the two half moons for a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
4. Pour peach sauce and chocolate chips into a measuring cup and microwave on high for 10 seconds.
5. Serve peach sauce immediately over crisp waffles and ice cream.
