CUCUMBERS, CARROTS or CELERY

 Yields ½ gallon


Refreshing and bizarre, this liquid libation is a great way to get some vitamins and minerals into your diet, without the artificial flavorings or chemicals. Not only does it keep the body freshly flushed, but you’re doing the disposal a favor (peels will clog the system). 


½ cup celery peels or slices (celery, cucumber or carrot) 
½ gallon water

  1.  If using cucumber, scrub exterior under running water to remove waxy coating. If using celery, cut into thin slivers. 
  2. Fill jug 3” from the top with fresh water.
  3. Add peels and slices. Replace cap and screw on tightly. Shake vigorously several times to release flavor.
  4. Store in fridge for approximately one hour before serving. Use within two or three days.

Prep Tip: Fruits and vegetables should be washed before peeling so it’s a good idea to keep a dish brush on hand exclusively for cleaning.
